Finders International trace relatives of motorbike racing champion.

Finders International were called in to help with the case of Tony Godfrey, the Daily Mail reports; a retired aeronautical draughtsman who sadly died alone in a care home with no known next of kin.

The team were able to swiftly trace Elisabeth Wilson, Tony’s cousin once removed and heir to his estate. However, they also discovered Tony’s fascinating racing past.  As the article notes, Tony took part in the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy, often known as the Isle of Man TT.  This annual motorbike racing event, postponed this year due to Covid-19, was established in 1907 and has run almost every year since, Daily Mail wrote.

Tony made his first appearance in the race in 1950, later becoming a British US motorbike racing champion, and he was even the first man to be airlifted to hospital from the Isle of Man in 1963 after a serious racing accident.  The article reported that he was taken to Ramsey Cottage Hospital and how Tony stayed in touch with the matron who cared for him throughout his life.
