An appeal was made recently on RTE Radio 1’s “Liveline” programme by a member of the public who had found an old war medal and wished for it to be returned to its rightful owner. Denis Ryan was walking through a field in Walkinstown 30 years ago, when he noticed the medal lying on the ground, and made the appeal to the Joe Duffy show. Hayley Seager, researcher with Finders International, heard the appeal and through her research was able t locate the last living grandchild of Felix Patrone, the man to who the medal was awarded. In this video, Geraldine Davies , the last remaining grandchild of Felix’s, can be seen here accepting the medal from Denis.
